Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Lenhardt was an amazing and inspiring teacher in my senior year at BHS. She really encouraged all of us that each of us had a voice that could make a difference. She was such a strong woman and I've always remembered her with a smile.
Class of 2005

Mary Lenhardt was one of the rare teachers that still crosses my mind ten years later. For one of our government class projects, we were asked to attend a local caucus. For many of us, it was our first exposure to the real process of democracy--her lessons of the importance of civic engagement and the belief that we each have the power to impact our communities through the political process has stayed with me years later. I have missed just one caucus since she first exposed us to that...

I remember with so much gratitude how Mary and Tom have facilitated our integration in the area when we moved not far from their house and stayed for 3 years, giving us advice on places to go to entertain our toddler... Mary was the soul of the neighborhood, so active, involved with her family and caring of others. I will forever cherish the image of this inspiring and strong woman who so kindly included us to celebrate her 60th birthday. My family and I are part of your fan club Mary......

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mary during her early teaching years at BHS. She was a terrific colleague, mentor and friend. She had such a positive and powerful impact on so many people, particularly her students and her fellow teachers. Of course, her greatest impact was on her family, and we offer our sincere condolences to Tom and family.

Tom and family - I was very sorry to learn of Mary's passing, and you have my sincere sympathy. I met her when I worked at the City and she was always so pleasant. The kind words and remembrances are an indication of the kind of person she was and how she will be remembered. God bless.

She was my senior year government teacher at Burnsville and the reason I majored in Social Studies. What a gift for teaching! I will never forget her. My sympathies to your family.

Tom, I delivered many cards for you today and my heart sank. Nancy and I are so sorry for your loss. She was such a lovely woman, so friendly, always smiling. This is a perfect picture of her. If you need anything, you know where to find me. Peace, brother.

Mary and Mary Jo Kurtz and Mariel Wolter and I were together for 10+ years as advisors for Youth-In-Government from Burnsville. I always liked that she had a "standing date" with Tom and therefore shared her position with Mary Jo so she could make their night together.
She was an incredible source of calm when we were with 1500 kids and things got a bit wild... and I'll never forget how she had such a wonderfully clear mind and positive vision for kids (and all of us).

My condolences to Mary's family. Having grown up in Dickinson and a Trinity High alum as well, I remember her as bright, beautiful and brave. She leaves a wonderful legacy of promoting diversity and participation in the political process.
