Nell ThomasCotacoFuneral service for Nell Thomas, 88, of Cotaco will be Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Cotaco Methodist Church with Reverend John Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Thomas died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at her residence. She was born July 23, 1925, in Morgan County to the late Newt Edmonson and Earle Kay Edmonson. She was a member of the Cotaco Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Her husband, Allen "Buddy" Thomas, preceded her in death.Survivors include two sons, Larry Thomas(Linda) of Huntsville and Randy Thomas of Cotaco; one daughter, Shannon Stinson (Scotty) of Cotaco; one brother, Kay Edmonson of Cotaco; five grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Hunter Stinson, Colton Stinson and Kyle Thomas; and five great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Jake Thomas, Josh Thomas, Hunter Stinson, Colton Stinson, Kyle Thomas and Steve Edmonson.www.peckfuneralhome.com This obituary was originally published in the Decatur Daily.
