Patsy E. Thompson, age 83, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, October 31, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, November 3, 2025, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Mr. Heath O’Barr officiating, with interment in Harrell Cemetery in the Midway Community.
Patsy was born July 22, 1942, in Hawkinsville, GA, and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Eastman. She grew up in the Midway Community of Pulaski County and attended Midway School and was a 1960 graduate of Hawkinsville High School. During the early 1960s she worked as a secretary at McCranie Tractor Company before raising her three children as a homemaker. Later she worked for Pulaski County for 20 years before retiring in 2018. Patsy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She loved gardening and tending her flowers.
She also enjoyed reading, cooking for family and friends, and especially spending time with her family.
She was always thinking of others before taking care of herself. Patsy was the daughter of the late Mildred Vaughn Thompson and Virgil Wilson Thompson. She is preceded in death by the father of their children, Roger M. Thompson.
She is survived by her Daughter – Mona Thompson of Hawkinsville; 2 Sons – Dale Thompson (Kim) and Daniel Thompson (Betty Jean), both of Eastman; 4 Grandchildren – Dalen Thompson of Jacksonville, FL, Linzy Bowen (Bradley Jones) of Eastman, Ryan Bowen of Pennsylvania, and Caiden Knight of Eastman; 3 Sisters – Polly Sheffield (Larry) of Hawkinsville, Peggy Evans of Eastman, and Susan Deal (Ronnie) of Valdosta; 1 Brother – Greg Thompson (Patricia) of Eastman; Many Nieces and Nephews and Numerous Cousins; Her Caregivers – Jackie Powell, Angela Flowers, and Lillie Dupree.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM, Monday, November 3, 2025, and may be contacted at the Thompson residence, 298 Golf Course Rd., Eastman, GA.
