“a great coach has left us. Paul was successful with many teams through his career. I can remember when he coached LSU and had a Heisman trophy winner on his team. Billy Cannon. he was a great leader of men when he coached at army. well now he is coaching a much greater team now. I pray that our loving savior will grant peace and comfort to the coaches family during this time of sorrow. may you rest in peace coach.
“Ann and Family, Every aspect of our backgrounds were totally opposite from each other, but from the first moment I met Paul at our Bible Study, I had a full sense of who he was as a man, as a Christian, and he responded to me in kind. I have never known any one like him, and don't expect ever to know such a man again. He taught me that in the Holy Spirit opposites may attract and abide with each other in fellowship. David Madden
“Dear Ann, Kathy, Steve and families:
Please know we are thinking of you in sympathy and prayer. Of the joys in our lives we've shared and of people we have met you and Coach Dietzel touched our lives in a way we will never, ever, forget. May God Bless You and may Coach rest in peace.

“My sympathies to the family; my brother Jerry D. Dumas, played for him at LSU and I, as a child, remember Mr. Dietzel very fondly. May the peace of God be with you and yours!
“Ann and family,
The loss of Coach will leave a great void in your life I know, but I know also that he leaves you with many memories that will bring you comfort in the days ahead. Over the years I have met many who bear the title of coach, but I know of no one who carried the title better than Coach Dietzel. A true gentleman that brought honor, integrity, and a love and respect for others to our profession.
It was a true honor to be in his presence.
“My thoughts and prayers goes out to the Dietzel family. Doing this time of sorrow look to the hills for comfort. I know coach Dietzel touch many lives because he touch mine from the moment I met him in that short time. Even thou he will truly be missed I have comfort in knowing he is not in any pain.
