My condolences to the family.
I met Paula as part of a county-wide effort to improve services to the Hearing Impaired and Deaf Community, at a time where interpreter service and training were badly needed. Her leadership and advocacy in this area, and her role in teaching to prepare interpreters improved the services to the deaf community immensely and brought the status of interpreters to a professional level . I am very sorry to hear Paula Sargent passed away on Sept. ?? today and She worked at Miami Dade College for many years and supporting the Deaf community and interpreter program. I wanted to thank her for working hard for successful educational program. Her family and she are in our prayers and thoughts.
