I just wanted to remember Dad on Veteran's Day; he served in the US Army 10th Armored Division as a radio operator in WWII, 1943-1946 at war's end and our victory over the Nazis in Europe. Thanks Dad for risking your neck in your youth to protect our future as America, having seven of us to enjoy freedom in our lives!

I am sorry we never met. He was my second cousin. His father and my father new each other well, when they were young. My condolences to the family.

I first met Percy in June, 1947, I think. He's my former brother-in-law, father of my seven Daley nieces and nephews. I introduced him to my sister. In 1947, a junior in high school, I was lucky enough to attend the Norfolk Music School, a summer school in Norfolk, CT run by the Yale Music School. Condolences to the family, from one of the AFGE unionists who learned much from Percy's actions and demeanor. His memory lives on in us.

Percy Daley retired in 1988 as the AFGE Council 220 Executive Vice President. He served as EVP for 6 months. Prior to that he served as Council 220 First Vice President from 1982 to 1988. Percy began working for Social Security in 1957. He served as a Union officer in AFGE primarily in Local 1164 since 1962. He was President of Local 1164 when I first met him in 1976 and retired as President in 1988. He was a pioneer in his Local and the Council. He was a delegate at the first AFGE...
