“Tom, my heart goes out to you.
“Dear Tom, we just learned of Rhoda's passing and wanted, even in this informal way, to tell you and Susan, Ellen, Kate and Jeffrey how sorry we are. Rhoda was a remarkable woman and a friend from the time we moved in a few doors down from you on Irving Avenue in the mid-1960's
“Ellen and Susan, So sorry your Mom's life was shortened when she seemed to finally find the life she dreamed of and wanted so much. There are many, many good memories -- enough to fill a book and at such impressionable ages for you two girls. Your Mom and I were most helpful for each other as we ventured on a new way of life being single Mom's. She is blesses and lives on as she watches the lives she fostered and touched. Love, Pat Sochor
“Dear Tom and Family,
In 1978, I took Rhoda's course about creating writing. We have been friends since then. I appreciated her generosity, compassion, expertise, and friendship. Mike and I are grateful that we spent quality time with the two of you a few years ago in Tucson. We will miss her. Let us know if we can do anything for you.

“Tom - My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
“Ellen&Sue: Sorry for the passing of your Mom. Remembering your Mom brings to mind the many times we as children played and dressed for our musicals to entertain both our Moms! I will keep you in my thoughts. Denyse (Nisey)
“Dear Tom & family, I am saddened to hear of Rhoda's passing, she was a good friend and colleague to me. Her Holocaust research was very valuable to me as I began years ago to try to build Jewish-Christian understanding among Mpls Christians & Jews. She was always available to speak to my groups and was a major contributor to the work I've been involved with. I will miss her more than I can say. JoAnn Magnuson, Mpls MN
“Ellen and family,
Your mother sounds like she was a remarkable woman. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
“Ellen, what an amazing woman your mom was! I'm so sorry for your loss. Best wishes to you and your family in this difficult time.
