“Real sorry to hear about the passing of "Hoss." He always treated me like a son, when I handled claims for State Farm in his area. Alot of great memories with Bob! He came to my wediding in Bristol, VA. He wore a red blazer and a micky mouse tie! Thought it was great! He loved the Fightin Blues. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
“Robert was a great friend to my parents, Edith and Dick Rogers, and also to me and my siblings as we knew him from St. John's and the community. He and my Dad were especially close and shared many interests, especially sports. They usually greeted each other with "Go Braves" and/or "Go Blues." Robert reminded me many times that Dad was his Sunday School teacher when he left for the Navy in WWII.
Shantel and Sabrina, my deepest sympathies to you and your families....
“Shantel, our thoughts, prayers and love are with you, Tracey, Sabrina and your entire family. May the Good Lord's healing presence be with all who love your dad.
“Dear Sabrina & family
Please accept my very deepest condolences at the passing of your precious Father! Your wonderful memories will get you through
“I started as a State FArm agent with Bob in 1968. We went to all 3 of the State Farm schools together in Charlottesville, Va.. He was one of the nicest men that any one can meet. He allways said he wanted to put in 50 years with the rescue squad, and he did. He called everyone "Hoss", that is where he got his name. He loved his wife and 2 girls more than anything on earth. We will miss him.
“Robert was a family friend his entire life. I have many, many fond memories of him over the years. The last time I saw him was at at Parry McCluer High School reunion at Hotel Natural Bridge. Even though he was confined to a wheel chair, he was enjoying celebrating with his friends and school mates. A good man. A wonderful friend. I shall miss seeing him.RIP, Robert.
