There are not enough words to say thank you for such a Hero as you are. May your family and friends feel peace and reflect in the light of your love for them and for our country.

I would like to thank Col Howard and your entire family for all you have done for our country. I am the mom of a soldier on his second deployment in Afghanistan. Col Howard and your entire family serve as an inspiration to all of us who have loved ones in the military. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I feel so proud to know that I was born in Opelika, AL, where COL Howard was from. I as a Viet Nam veteran and a fellow American can never find words to express the graditude we all owe COL Howard for his service.

Robert L. Howard, was someone I never knew until now, but with tears in my eyes, and gratitude in my heart, I thank him and the many others living and dead who have made many, many sacrifices to give us the America we love and cherish. Thanks again, Robert. RIP, and just maybe, on a special day, we will meet again in a field of flowers.. PT Irish, Peoria, AZ.

Thinks to Col. Howard a lot of good man are alive today. Words can not say what a great Hero and leader he was. I looked up to him as a friend and a leader. God blessed this nation for giving us Robert Howard.

Thank you for your service Colonel from a grateful nation.

"A greater love hath no man then to lay down his life for another"....
God Bless Robert Howard, Remember him and all Veterans for their sacrifices. Always remember this is the BEST country in the world and thank those who served and are serving to keep it that way.
