Not sure what to say?

You were the best father, friend, mentor and advisor. I could not have had a better role model. I am eternally grateful to have had you as my father. we had some fantastic times together. We all miss you and love you greatly. Dan

I admired Bob greatly. To me, he was the perfect combination of competence, correct priorities, kindness and, above all, humor. As a firefighter in more than a few difficult situations, I breathed easier when 2 Chief McGue rolled onto the scene, as I knew the correct decisions would always be made – they always were. His great appreciation for family affected us at work too. When I became an officer, Bob pulled me aside and asked me if I knew what my new job was? It wasn't exactly what I...

After being discharged from the Corps in the late 1960s I heard about a class @ Oakland High from some old Oakland High School Classmates! I got my job because of Chief McGue and so did many others on Oakland and throughout the Baya area!
Over my many years @ Station 4 on several occassions I needed backup and assistance! Chief Mcgue was always there ready to help and intercede! I will never forget the help and guidance from a true leader!

Bob, as a St. Jarlath alumni, I remember you and your wife devoted much of your time to school activities. My brother just stopped by and we remembered all the years you coached basketball teams at SJ. My dad was a contemporary on the OFD during much of the same period you served. My siblings and I were in the same class years as Mike, Matty and Daniel. My thoughts are with your family and may you rest in peace.

You were my boss for many years and you were a true friend. You also made a tremnendous impact on my life. What an honor and privelege it was for me to have worked with you. The best boss I ever had. The quintessential fireman. You will be missed, my friend. God Bless you.

Rest in Peace Boss.
