Dr. Rosemary Elizabeth Althouse

Rock Hill, South Carolina

Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

Dr. Althouse invited me to Winthrop to lead a workshop for early childhood professions throughout South Carolina in the early 1980's. Through the years we have shared countless conversations pertaining to the care and education of young children while attending state, regional and national early childhood conferences. She was a wonderful advocate for children, their families and for their teachers. God, thank you for allowing us to experience one of your special advocates for children.

Although we do not know you, I just wanted to say that I am sorry about the Loss of your beloved family member. May the God of "Peace and comfort" be with you.

I was one of those kids that had the privilege of being taught by Ms. Althouse(as we called her then)when she was the Kindergarten teacher at Winthrop Training School back in the late 50's. She was much beloved by those she taught and we remember her love of sharing the wonders of the world about us in watching a bean grow into a plant, hearing her read funny stories from Dr.Seuss, and just instilling into our young minds that "can do" attitude. She was an amazing woman and ahead...

Mrs Althouse was s blessing to me and so many others she taught..

I met Rosemary soon after her coming to Rock Hill. We enjoyed social times together, including visiting with her parents, cruise to Bermuda, etc Her love for children and her work were always evident. Elaine Hamel Price

Rosemary Althouse will be dearly missed; but her legacy will live on through her gifts, and in the lives of so many children, young and old.

Dr.Althouse the children in Heaven welcomes you.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
