“Roy Speer was a complicated man who didn't let his vision by bound by convention. I worked for him many years ago, when HSN first went public. He was a strong yet very caring person, bigger than life, really. I learned the value of hard work and tenacity under his mentorship, and I shall always be grateful for that. My condolences to his family.
“Much sadness at Roy's passing.....We were partners in several health-related businesses. He was my business mentor and he was tough....but an incredible teacher and wealth of information and experience. We became close friends over the years and this saddens me deeply....May you rest in comfort and peace with God, my friend....
“It was a pleasure to meet and work for Mr. Speer and his family. I was the Chief Engineer on their private Yacht DREAM. He loved his boats. May God bless you and watch over your family. Rest in peace.
“I am so sorry to hear of Roy's death and send all of my thoughts to Lisa, Richard, Robert, and your mom. Your father gave me quite the education in the years I spent doing business at the network and then even afterwards when we worked together a few years after that on other projects. He was an amazing man with an amazing business mind and quick wit that I totally enjoyed being around. I will be forever grateful that I got to know him and work with him. I send you all my thoughts and prayers...
“Well Roy, Gina and I wondered how you were doing often. Mrs. Speer, I am Donna De Salvo isa long time friend of mine and I visited the office often. Mr. Speer always treated me kindly and was very kind to my daughter Gina. He was a well of information rolled into one person and I respected him greatly. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Sincerely, Marcy Filimon

“I am so sad to hear of his passing. He taught me so much about business and people and life. Yes he was tough but oh how special, generous and kind. I will miss him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
“I am sad to learn of this. Roy gave me a huge break back in the early 90's when I was a young single parent trying to make it on my own. I was chosen to be his Executive Assistant. I will never forget the words he said to me when I was interviewing for the job. "I really respect you young lady for raising your child alone". He went on to say that his mom meant the world to him. I will never forget that opportunity that he gave me because he had faith. God Bless him and I'm...
