Not sure what to say?

Rudy, You were such a good friend to me both a runner at Christiansburg and in my many years of coaching. I always looked forward to competing against you, but more importantly always knowing we were going to share a joke or a story. To the Dillard family and Coach Dillard's many friends, God bless you one and all. We will truly miss you. Thanks for the memories

Head Coach Track/CC....Lake Braddock High School

Coach Dillard was a great teacher. I will never forget how much he cared about the students at Lucy Addison Junior High. Great Memories of shop class and trying out for track.

Rest in Peace Coach thanks for being there for me my Sr yr at Fleming. Will never be forgotten

Rudy was just priceless. You can't fabricate someone like him. Rudy was just a man who you wanted to be around. I would show up to track meets a hour early just to chat with him. Great teacher, great mentor, great influence on Roanoke...I will always remember Rudy Dillard.

"Well done, good and faithful servant!!!"

Co. Dillard your tireless effort and commitment to WF Track Team will be greatly missed. Thank you for your patience and guidance over the years.

Track and Field and the State of Virginia has lost a truly "Great Man". My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

Rest In Paradise Coach Dillard
Although I didn't run track, you were in my life as if I did. All of the words people are expressing of you are absolutely true. You taught and raised many students. From Fleming to Patrick Henry and many more. Your words of wisdom was just that, wise counsel. I will forever remember you and all you did for me. I Needed it all:) your suffering is over & God has a better plan. We may not understand but we know that he makes no mistakes. Rest, so you can...

Praying for the family in the loss of one great coach and love one. He was one gentle giant when it came to teaching students about sports. He touched so many in his teaching and coaching years that we will never forget the love that he showed and gave to all students. He always had a special place in his heart for the special olympians when it came to track/field day at Fleming. Thanks for helping some athletes to get into college on a track/field schlarship. Rest in Peace! You will be truly...

You will be truly missed. Still hard to believe you are gone.
