“I moved to St. Paul in 1981. Russ was one of the first people I met. I remember he showed me around St. Paul. He was very nice to me and I'm sorry to hear of his passing. We just lost touch and it's been many, many years now. I just googled him to try to find him and was shocked, to say the least. I'm very sorry for your loss.
“I worked with your Dad at the State so many years ago. He was a good friend and a very hard co-worker. We laughed a lot back then, even when the work load was very demanding, he will be missed.
I worked with Russ at the State.
He was a good guy.
At the service this morning you went around and gave everyone there a hug and made us all feel welcome.
Your words about your Dad were very touching.
I am so sorry for your loss.
“So sorry to hear of Russ's passing, been many years since we all were kids on the east side. My brother Mark just passed on Nov 30th, so I know how hard it can be. Prayers to to you all.
“Leyna and Scott, I'm very sorry about your dad. I'm glad he is at peace now.
Stay strong through this hard time.

I still remember Russ hitting the ball and...
“Dear Leyna and Scott and family, I am very sorry for your loss. I remember how happy your dad would be when he spent time with you on the weekends. He loved you so very much. He had a big heart. May he rest in peace.
“Dear Darren, Shannon and Family -
I am so VERY sorry and sad to learn of Russell's death. Please be assured of my prayers for the repose of his soul, and for peace in all of your hearts. Ring me if I can help. I miss you all.

I have a tendency in my relationships to "pause for the cause" and ponder at times if I should do-say- something- how something should be said- should it wait til later, etc. My relationship with Russ was on a different level, pure and simple and always straight from the hip or the heart. - I without pause could tell him...
