BROACH, Samuel G., 85, of Richmond, passed away May 7, 2012. He was a devoted lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, a member of Richmond Lodge No. 10A.F.&A.M., Richmond Scottish Rite Bodies, and Acca Temple Shrine, where he was in the Arab Patrol. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, a former contractor/builder, and retired owner of Broach Distributors. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nell K. Broach; his daughter, Gail B. White and her husband, William S. White III; two grandsons, Allen T. White and Trevor S. White; sister, Margaret B. Fulks; and many nieces and nephews. Son of the late George W. Broach and Virginia Eloise Broach, he was also predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Edna B. Mitchem, Estelle B. Moorman, William W. Broach, Virginia B. Harrison, George W. Broach Jr. and Wilson M. Broach. Sam will be remembered as a devoted family man and friend to many. Special thanks to his faithful friends from Imperial Plaza. His family will receive friends at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., on Tuesday, May 15, from6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Grove Avenue and Meadow Street, on Wednesday, May 16, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
