Not sure what to say?

George, Chris, Margaret - I am sorry to hear of your loss. I recall the kindness of your dad as we grew up.

I was entering 7th grade just as the Mooers/Champlain/Rouses Point school merger resulted in Northeastern Clinton Central School. The new, larger school combined with the onset of my teenage years helped see to it that my grades took a nosedive. Mr. Bliven quietly pulled me aside one day and said, "You don't want to be dragging a 7th grade pencil around again next year". It was a gentle peptalk from an exceedingly nice man who even a burgeoning smart-aleck liked very much. Rest in...

"There is no death. Only a change of worlds". Chief Seattle

Mr. Bliven was my school principle in the early sixties in a very small town of Mooers in about as far north New York as you can get and still be in New York. I still think fondly of him as he was a hero to me. I entered a school system that was composed of children of Caucasian families only. For all who will miss the kind and gentle nature of my brother, Seth Ivan or the Right Reverend Seth Bliven, I give thanks to George, Chris and Margaret his siblings who made his life comfortable until his transition. Seth goes forward into his angelic life beyond with his wife, Charlotte, his grandson, Nicholas and his parents, Ivan and Ruth Bliven, sister Arlene and brother, Owen and sister, Alma. Seth was a healer of people, a lover of life and a teacher of children and adults in public...

I was sitting at my desk doing my plan book when a hand, out of nowhere, dropped on my shoulder. That was my first encounter with your Dad.

He introduce himself and asked if I had any questions about the school system or the faculty. I imagine...

It was a great pleasure knowing you and being able to share time with you here in the Keys. You will be greatly missed. George & Bunni

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. May the comfort from God be with you all. Isaiah 40:1

Dear George, Chris, Maggie and Family,

This morning we learned of your Dad's passing. We offer our deepest sympathy to each of you, to Dad's siblings and to the remainder of the family.

We have many connections with Dad! Your family lived one street behind us on Oak Street, many years ago. My wife Dawn attended elementary school where Dad was a teacher and administrator. We have relatives who, as teachers, worked under Seth in the Plattsburgh City School System. ...
