Shane JACKSON Obituary
News Death Notice
JACKSON, Shane Clinton of Beavercreek and Centerville, departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2013, the result of a traffic accident. Shane was 42 years old, born January 10, 1971 in Middletown Ohio to Kenneth Jackson and Kathleen Ankney Jackson Thompson. He was a graduate of Waynesville High Class of 1989 and Wright State University Class of 1999 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education. He was employed with the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center as a teacher since 2003. On August 15, 1999 he married Dorothy L McGrew at the Great Stone Castle in Sidney, Ohio and they would have two daughters Emma Margaret and Sarah Charlotte at home. Shane was preceded in death by his two grandfathers Rev Charles Ankney and Harry Jackson and step father John Thompson. Shane is survived by his wife and two daughters of Beavercreek; his mother Kathleen Thompson of Sidney and father Kenneth Jackson of Eaton; two grandmothers Ruth Ankney of Kettering and Lucille Jackson; his sisters Tryna (Robert) Hattery of Miamisburg and Tiffney Thompson of Sidney; brother Justin Thompson ( Brittany) of Sidney; step brothers Mark (Heather) Thompson and Jonathan Thompson and step sister Roxie Fawcett all of Sidney; his father and mother in law Larry and Marge Mcgrew of Beavercreek and brother in law Alan McGrew (Jackie) of Fairborn; his life long friends Dave and Steve Clark and the Michael Clark family of Centerville and many nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles who loved him deeply. Shane was a wonderful, kind, gentle man who spread joy wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, March23, 2013 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church, 297 North St., Waynesville, Ohio, 45068. Rev. Brian Blankenship officiating. Interment Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton -Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. from 4-8 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a college fund for the benefit of Emma Margaret and Sarah Charlotte. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

Thought of you today when I looked ahead on the calendar and realized the Ides of March and St. Patrick's Day are coming up... and tried to forget about the date in between the two.
I still picture you in your spot in the office and "see" you out of the corner of my eye in the hallway and parking garage at different moments.
Five years seems like forever and just moments ago all at the same time.

Shane was a good dude. My mother, Barb, was married to his father, Kenny, for 10 plus years. I'm an only child and wasn't able to keep in contact w/ Shane after our parents divorced but I alway considered him a brother. He really was a kind and gentle soul; I don't believe I ever seen him get mad.
I was sadden to hear of his passing. I've two girls myself and can't imagine what they're going through.

Dear Dad,
Today's Wednesday, about a week or so before Christmas. If memory serves, either next week or the week after is Exam Week. We're heading to West Virginia either this weekend or next. I'm excited to see the family again. You remember Chris Lendon, right?
Well, me, Sarah and him have been talking on Facebook for while, and we got to see him for Steven's wedding. I really miss you.This will be the 3rd Christmas you won't be here. I thought it would help my heart if I pretended some of my gifts were from you. I don't know, I guess I just really miss you.
Sarah sprained her ankle, again. :) Mom's gotten worse. Oh! I'm on the rifle line for Winter Guard. I'm super excited, because tonight at practice we're supposed to learn a rifle feature for the show. Granted, I'm not very good at rifle yet, but I'll learn. There really isn't much else to tell you. I miss you.

Hey Dad. Its been awhile since i wrote you, huh? I'm sorry about that. Guard has been hectic, and jist school in general is off. I really miss you. Today, a kid in my school died. Cancer, can you belevie it? He woulsve been a sophmore. I never met him, but i hear he was a great guy. I just...... i could really use one of your hugs right aboit now.

Mr. Jackson was a good man, good teacher, a person who cared about the kids he worked with. I only got to see him a little but felt that he was well liked and respected. May god bless your family. I will always remember Shane as a little boy, always being the cut-up and playing jokes. He was my first nephew and even though I had not see him for years at a time; when I did see him, it was like no time went by at all. We picked up where we left off - joking and throwing pillows, etc. I am sorry I couldn't be there to say "good bye", but I was there in spirit. I asked Kevin and Dad to meet you on the other side.
Shane, you will be missed by many... I hope you realized how much you were loved.

Shane was a great man, co-worker, and friend. The youth he worked with were always grateful of his persistance and dedication to helping them. Everyday that I would pass him in the hall, he would show his large smile and always ask about my day. He will be sorely missed and the hallways are a little less chipper without him. I keep his family and loved ones in my prayers.

He was also a very caring friend to many of his colleagues at Montgomery County Detention Center. He also cared very deeply for his family. I'll always remember Shane as the quiet, gentle young man who frequently played D&D with Jeff and Dave all night at our house on weekends. Through the years, I have enjoyed watching him mature into the caring, loving, friend, teacher, husband and father that we all grieve for now. I have not seen Shane for about 14 years but I remember the one thing he held most dear was family. Jackson's, Clark's and McGrew/Burns families take comfort in the fact that you ALL gave him the greatest gift-your love. Shane was intelligent, spiritual, a loyal friend with a compassionate soul, huge heart and a truly uniquely contagious laugh. He brought out the best in everyone which is why it is no surprise he made an excellent teacher. My heart goes out to his daughters who will never get to spend more time with their daddy. I firmly believe he is their new guardian angle and will always be watching out for them as well as everyone he loved. We all were truly blessed by having him in our lives

We are so saddened by the loss of our nephew, yet so blessed that we have such wonderful memories of times shared with Shane. I'm remembering such and important day, when our daughter got married. They asked Shane to preform the service, he agreed, and they were so happy with his wit and words of encouragement. Shane you will be missed, we will always remember you with love.

Shane you touched alot of people's hearts over the years. I know the Clark familly is deeply saddened over your passing. I didn't know you too well, but as the clark familly shares stories of their past, you are always included as one of the familly memners in the stories. GOD only takes the one's from us that he needs. Tragic for the one's you have left behind, but the good LORD above has an outstanding person to walk with him. Shane was my workplace "roommate". We shared a classroom at Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center for years. Since we were in such close proximity, we had many discussions and supported each other professionally. Because his family was always at the forefront of his mind and at the center of his heart, many of our chats focused on them. I will miss the humorous and endearing stories about Emma and Sarah, and of Shane's ventures with Dodi. I will miss the excitability in his eyes when he shared synopses of his favorite sci-fi novels, but more than anything, I will miss Shane's giggles and his brotherly advice. I know how difficult it must be for the family to have surrendered such a jewel of a guy. I hope the prayers and memories of all who knew and loved Shane help to heal and sustain you at this time.
