Shelby Carroll White, 83, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1942, to Homer and Martha (Tackett) White.
Shelby began his lifelong career in 1960 winding transformers, a trade that would shape much of his life and legacy. Through hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to his craft, he eventually became the proud owner of White’s Transformer Sales, where he worked until his retirement in 2011. Shelby was a man who loved the outdoors and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—hunting, fishing, waterskiing, boating, camping, and traveling. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren, creating countless memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Martha White, his brother Jerry and sister-in-law Linda White, and grandson Destin Garrett.
Shelby is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gloria (Miller) White; his daughters Shelly (Rodney) Westmoreland and Gina Gilliam (Billy), his son Jeff White (Terri), his siblings Vernon White (Mary), Doris Szafranski (John), Homer White, and Andy White (Nancy). He leaves behind a proud and loving legacy through his grandchildren: Holly Calvert (Dustin) Calvert, Heath and Maggie Westmoreland, Chance Gilliam, Gage Gilliam (Alexis), and Rail Gilliam (Sydney), Colby White, and Hunter White (Taylor), Austin Garrett, and eight great-grandchildren. Shelby also shared a lifelong friendship with Jim and Barbara Hedgpeth, who remained close companions throughout the years.
Shelby’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.
