Kurys, Sophie Mary a pioneer for women, passed away February 17, 2013 at the age of 87. She signed her first baseball contract at age 17 to play second base for the Racine Belles (1943-1951). She was a native of Flint, Michigan, and was known as The Flint Flash. She was named All-American Girls...
