“Stan became a mentor when I got started at VDEM a few years ago. We rode many miles in region 6. Some of those curves and hills made me grab the dash and he laughed at me for doing so. He always knew where the good eats' where. He taught me that I'm not in the emergency management business, rather I'm in the people business. He's touched so many folks, particularly young folks trying to take a cue from him. I'll miss my friend and colleague.
“I am so sorry to hear about Stanley. We went to school together and he was always the best of friend. My heart goes out to his family.Stanley was always a special man. God bless you all.
“A great partner of the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, and a terrific human being. You will be missed Stan!
“I am so sorry for the family's loss. Stan was a great guy.
“Sharon, You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. As you may remember Stan and I spent a lot of time together during my DOF career in Pulaski and became good friends. I am sad we lost touch the last few years after I moved from the area. Stan will always have a special place in my heart not only as a friend but also as a mentor/colleague. May God bless.

“It was a pleasure to work with and get to know Stan during my time with Bedford City. He was a dedicated and knowledgeable individual. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
“RIP, Stan you fought a great fight and now it is our turn to continue what you started. Not only was Stan a co-worker but a true friend to me. You taught me to listen to others before making a decision and I am grateful. To Sharon and the family thank you for sharing Stan with us, we are better people because of him. May God Bless each and every one of you during this difficult time.
