Stephen was like an angel sent into my life a few months ago. I believe people are sent to you when you need them the most. I was having a rough time with life and then Stephen appeared. He always had an abundance of big ol' hugs, kind words, and contagious smiles. He gave me back the confidence I had lost in myself. I will always be grateful to him for that. I will miss all those teddy bear hugs, his dimples, his infectious laughter, and our crazy texts at all hours of the day and night. But...

Big Steve will surely be missed at the Morganton library. He always came in with a smile and always kept us laughing. We're going to miss his smile and laughter.

I went to school with Stephen from middle school on up, however, I grew up playing baseball with him even when we were in elementary school. I remember him on that Glen Alpine team even now. For some reason he is the only one I can remember on that team even now. He embodied that team and was a force even then. He had a contagious smile and was extremely personable. R.I.P. my friend.

I've known Stephen since i was 17 yrs. old. He was an awesome person to be around and always did what he could to see people happy. I will miss you alot.
