Dear Tom and Susan,
I just now heard about your Mom. I'm so very sorry. It is just so hard to lose one's Mother. She and my Mom were such good friends - I'm sure they're up there in heaven now just gabbing away and smiling down on us all! :>) Also, your mother was my 5th grade Sunday School teacher, and I remember that her class was one of the few that was actually interesting - due I'm sure to your mother's creative teaching abilities!
God bless and keep you all. You are in my...

Mrs. Almond was my "Novels" teacher in 10th Grade at Dunbar back in 1973-74, what a Grand Lady she was! She was a well-loved teacher who inspired her students in so many ways, we all adored her. For many Summers thereafter, she was a Regular at the Oakwood Pool, where we would always chat! To Tommy and Susan, your Mother
was just delightful, and born to Teach!

Susan Almond was my English teacher at Heritage High school, she always made class so enjoyable. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Juanita Yates Kirby

Mrs. Almond-as she was to me in the 6th grade at Patrick Henry School in Richmond was always one of my most memorable teachers and I remember her fondly and with much respect. She taught me so much.I am certain there are so many more "children" that also remember her . Patrick Henry 1956-1957
