Terri Ellen Hirschhorn, age 69 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, at the CareOne at Evesham Post-Acute Center, Evesham Township, NJ. Born in Flemington, NJ on January 2, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Adele (Zegman) Hirschhorn.
Terri's career spanned over 35 years with the State of New Jersey, where she made significant contributions while working for both the Department of Transportation and the Department of Housing. She was particularly proud of her efforts to orchestrate special transportation services for individuals with disabilities throughout the state, a testament to her compassion and zeal to serving others.
Growing up in Neshanic Station, NJ, she pursued her education diligently, earning her bachelor’s degree from Stockton University in Absecon, NJ, followed by a master’s degree in criminal law from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Her strong-willed nature was evident throughout her life, as she was known to "know what she wanted and did it her way." This resilience, paired with her caring and compassionate spirit, shaped her role as a caretaker for her family, including her beloved parents and her dear friend, Rose Moses.
Terri was not only accomplished in her professional endeavors, but also cherished for her love of animals, especially dogs. This was especially true with her brother and sister-in-law's boxer, who would get excited every time the statement "Aunt Terri" was uttered. She lived in Cherry Hill, NJ for the last 22 years and had previously resided in Plainsboro, NJ, leaving an indelible mark on both communities.
Terri is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Martin and Lila Hirschhorn of Flemington, NJ, and Cheryl and Dr. Michael Feinberg of Long Island, NY. She is also lovingly remembered by her two nieces, Stephanie and Jennifer Feinberg, both of New York City, as well as one great-niece.
Graveside services and interment next to her parents, officiated by Rabbi Eli Kornfeld, will be held at the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, located at 61 Capner Street, Flemington, NJ on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather for this tribute to celebrate Terri's life and the impact she made on everyone around her.
Terri Ellen Hirschhorn will be deeply missed, but her spirit and contributions will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
