Guest Book

Ms. Anderson, or "Andy" as we called her hired me in 1975 as a new graduate nurse. I wanted to work in Peds and she took me to Special Care Nursery for a tour. I recall looking at the tiny babies in sheer terror and I asked her, "This is Peds?" She said "Kinda". Then she told me if I did not like it there, I could transfer in 6 months. Needless to say, I was in SCN for 13.5 years before being promoted to a Nurse Manager in Peds.
She allowed her leaders to...

PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. AS YOU MOURN THE LOSS OF YOUR SISTER ANDY.

I am so sorry to hear this. Miss Anderson, or Andy as we all called her, was my first supervisor when I graduated from Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. When I returned to work after raising my children, she was the Director of Pediatrics. She was my mentor and friend and I will always remember her. My condolences to the whole family.

My heartfelt condolences to Andy's family. Andy hired me at Michael Reese in 1974. She was wonderful to work for. Family was always her priority including our patients, our own families and our work family. She was like another mother who cared for & encouraged us. She left a legacy of many many nurses who went on to have wonderful careers. She will be missed.

To The Family: Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. May you find comfort in knowing that Jesus is with us always.
