Timothy Hapsis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 9, 2018.
Timothy Hapsis, age 28, died April 8, 2018. Timothy was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 18, 1989. He attended Jacksonville Beach Elementary School, Fletcher Middle School, and Fletcher High School. His whole life was spent in and around Jacksonville Beach. He was well known in the beach community and had a large group of friends that always surrounded him. The person who brought him the most joy in this world was his beloved son, Maddix, age 6. Timothy was known for having a big heart, willing to do anything for the people in his life. Timothy's engaging character was contagious, his smile warm and joyous. He was an athlete, excelling in soccer and tennis, and played on the Fletcher tennis team. He loved the outdoors and was active in the boy scouts, Troop 282, in Jacksonville Beach. Timothy attended church at Eleven 22 and took Maddix to youth Sunday school there. He was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend to all.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Sharon Anderson, his brother, Gust Hapsis, III, his sister, Kate Hapsis, his only son, Maddix Kane Hapsis; and also by his father Gust Hapsis, Jr. His brother, Peter Hapsis, pre-deceased Timothy in January 2014.

The care of Timothy's body has been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home and an online memorial register is available at www.hardage-giddensbeacheschapel.com. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM this Saturday, April 14, at the Church of Eleven 22 – 14286 Beach Blvd (near the intersection of San Pablo Rd) Jacksonville, FL 32250.

In lieu of flowers, a financial memorial may be made to help with Maddix's future educational expenses. If you choose to do this, please make a check out to Sharon Anderson -- subject line: "Maddix Hapsis Educational Fund" and mail to Sharon Anderson at 2029 N. 3rd Street, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250. All proceeds will be put in a fund already started by Timothy's mother, Sharon, to assist in Maddix's education.
