“I will remember Senator Rudman in my daily prayers. He was a great American. I'm from Massachusetts and a Democrat, but Senator Rudman served all of America with brains and grace. I am sorry for all of us that he is gone, but particularly for his family.
“I am a lifelong Democratic liberal, but I so admired and always will admire his life and career. I send condolences to the family and thank them for sharing Senator Rudman with our nation. He was a patriot in the finest sense.
