SCHNEIDER--Dr. William J.,

on August 11, 2016. Dr. Schneider was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tufts University and earned his M.D. and MPH from Columbia University. He was Medical Director and Managing Director for Healthcare Services at JP Morgan Chase from which he retired in 2001. Dr. Schneider's second career was in employee health services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He was a valued colleague and wise mentor and enthusiastic clinical professor, instructing countless medical students, residents, and other health care professionals over the years through his academic appointments at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Schneider wrote many articles and book chapters on occupational medicine, health promotion, and infectious disease. As a nationally recognized leader in these areas he was a frequent presenter at professional conferences around the country. He is survived by his wife Joan, sons Andrew, Doug and Eric, daughter-in-law Sara, grandsons Max, Gus and Leo, and siblings Edward and Rhoda. Service Sunday, August 14, 11:15am. at "The Riverside," 76 St. and Amsterdam Ave. Contributions in his memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

It has been a long time but I was saddened when I heard of Dr. Schneider's passing.
I had the pleasure of working for Dr. Schneider in the medical department at JP Morgan. He was so admired and respected. God rest his soul. My condolences to the family.

Bill was an astute and dedicated clinician, a mentor and teacher to generations of young physicians, a warm and always available colleague, and a valuable friend to all. Throughout his career, he continued to sponsor members to NYC professional associations including Physicians Scientific Society, New York Academy of Medicine, New York Occupational and Environmental Medical Society, and MSKCC National Corporate Medical Associates. The many people to whom he was a splendid role model will remember him fondly.
