John Frame, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday morning, June 10th, 2013 at St. Joseph's General Hospital.
He is survived by his tirelessly devoted wife Marguerite, sons John (Betty) and Dale (Diane), grandchildren Roxanne (Ryan), Dayna (Kevin), Kalvin (Michelle) and Tanis (Otto), and seven great grandchildren (aka "the noisy ones").
John was an amazing man who most enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and spending time with family and friends at the lakes near Ocean Falls and Gold River. After retiring, John took up woodworking and could often be found puttering around his garage making furniture and ornaments which he (to his granddaughter's absolute horror) would give away free of charge to those he thought would most appreciate or need it.
John frequently found himself surrounded by ladies (i.e., his wife and sisters) and while he took it all in stride, listening to their chatter and rolling his eyes occasionally at their jokes, he loved a quick escape to the golf course or to Wendy's for a burger. As life's pace slowed and mobility challenges prevented him from outright running away, he was easily delighted by simply watching his great grandkids play or giving one the occasional ride on his scooter (which the great grandkids are now making excellent use of!).
John was a fighter and at times a stubborn man who very much loved his family. He was not afraid to threaten you with a good "cuff in the lug" if he thought you needed it! And although verbal communication became increasingly difficult (the exception being his ability to curse), one good hand gesture or facial expression quickly let you know exactly what he was thinking.
The family would like to say thank you to Doctor Tancon, Doctor Comacho, the nurses in ICU, and the Home Support workers for their support and assistance during John's illness.
At John's request, no service will be held. If friends so wish, donations can be made to BC Children's Hospital in John's name.
John Frame - Forever loved, forever tucked safely in our hearts.
