It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Frances Becker. Mom was born in Tagham, BC, on February 24,1930, to Anne and Mike Masloff, and spent her youth in Nelson, BC. In 1949 she moved to Ocean Falls, BC, where she met and married her husband, Floyd, of 64 years. Together in 1950 they moved to Nanaimo where they settled in the Harewood district to raise their family. Her first born, Allan, died in 1954. She is survived by daughters Brenda (Richard), Janice (Peter), Donna, son Robert, grandchildren Dustin, Michael, Laura, and Julia, as well as her sister Florence Thomson.
The Guest Book is expired.
A good neighbour and loyal friend, she will be remembered for her sparkle and fun-loving nature. Mom's gift was her nurturing and generous spirit making her a special person in many people's lives. We will miss her warm smile, loving heart, and all the beauty she brought into our lives.
We would like to acknowledge Drs. Carr, Dunne, Bernstein, and Calvin for their sensitive care throughout Mom's long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Our special thanks to the Palliative Care nursing teams and Hospice volunteers for helping Mom to transition with comfort and peace.
There is no service by request. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Nanaimo Hospice Society or to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
We will love you, Mom, forever and always...
