WALKER, Neil John July 21, 1915-July 27, 2013 Neil passed away peacefully at Stanford Place on July 27th, 2013 at the age of 98. He is survived by his daughters, Isobel of Port Alberni, Jane of Qualicum Beach; step son, Norm Ellis of Woodstock, Ontario; and nephew, Les Jensen of Calgary, Alberta. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice in 2007 and his sister, Annie Jensen in 1998. Neil was born on July 21, 1915 at the homestead farm at Connemara (near Nanton), Alberta and grew up on the farm. In 1936, he took over the farming operation when his father passed away. Neil always wanted to live near Victoria. In 1973 his dream became a reality when he and Alice moved to Qualicum Beach where they had found the perfect property - 3.5 acres where they had the room to garden and entertain family and friends from the prairies. Although Neil left the farm and Alberta, they were always very near and dear to his heart. He always loved to tell stories and would entertain family, friends and acquaintances with his accounts of "the way things were". We would like to thank all the staff at Stanford Place for the excellent care and love they gave to dad. He was always very grateful for all their help and would thank them. We would also like to thank Dr. El Karsh for his care and concern for dad during this difficult time. Neil will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him; he touched many lives.
