WOODWARD, Robin Adaire . It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our husband, father, son, brother and friend Robin who left us all too soon on Friday, September 13, 2013 at his home in Port Alberni. Predeceased by his father William and granddaughter Alyssa. He is survived and will be missed by his loving wife and partner Maryann McConnell; children: Sherry Woodward, Sandy Woodward (Max Courtenay), Ron Woodward and Jennifer Harris (Rick); grandchildren: Brandon, Michael, Brittney, Seth, Paige, Zachary and Megan; mother Patricia Woodward; siblings: Janet Parker (Raymond), Roger (Kathryn), Joyce Woytowick (Nick), Judy Redden, Danny (Janice), Donna Irwin (Brent), Tony (Judy), Angela Martens (Dale), David (Lili), as well many nieces, nephews and friends. Robin was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and grew up in Ontario and Manitoba before joining the military. Following this, Robin worked in Portage la Prairie with his brother Danny in construction, autobody and sales. He there lovingly raised his children and then moved to Vancouver Island where he fell in love with Maryann McConnell. Together they poured their hearts and talents into the Alberni Valley Billiard Club. Robin was a man of many talents. He could fix or build just about anything, working as a carpenter and as a master billiard mechanic. He also excelled in numerous sports, billiards, golf, curling and cards to name a few. His kind and generous nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially Maryann. A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005-6th Ave., with Rev. George Pell officiating. Cremation has taken place.
