James Oeffinger Obituary
Oeffinger, James Alan 74, of Versailles, KY, formerly of Naperville, IL, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Oshkosh, WI, of injuries suffered in a plane crash. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Juliet Muro Oeffinger; and his three daughters, Christine (Jim) Jarecki of Grand Rapids, MI, Donna (Jimmy) Childers of Lexington, KY, and Teresa (Mike) Fourcher of Chicago, IL; one sister, Joan (Jim) Smith of Jeffersonville, IN; seven grandchildren, Addison, Kelsey and Carson Jarecki, Nicolas Fourcher, and Cameron, Braydon and Nathan Childers. Born August 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Bud and Frances Oeffinger. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Versailles, veteran in the United States Army and retired from computer sales management. Jim's passions in life were flying, cars and giving advice to his kids. Services will be in Lexington, KY. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church by Fr. Dan Noll. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Jim's love for flying, the family requests memorial contributions to support a scholarship to the EAA Young Eagles Camp in Oshkosh, WI.
