Clay Jarvis Burton Naples, FL
Clay Jarvis Burton, 54, of Naples, FL, and formerly of Hoopeston, lost his battle with cancer at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Avow Hospice of Naples, FL, while surrounded by family.
He was born September 17, 1958 to Carson 'Gene' and Donna Burton. He married Patty Moore on August 2, 1980, in Hoopeston.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Burton of Naples, FL; a son, Taylor Burton of Naples, FL; three sisters, Patricia Maul of Hoopeston, Sandy Grimes of Summerset, SD, and Candy Edwards of Hoopeston; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Clay graduated from Hoopeston-East Lynn High School in 1976. He was an avid NASCAR fan. One of his favorite memories was driving the transporter and being the gas man for Billy Bigley Jr. racing. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his two sisters, Patty and Candy, for the care and support they have given throughout Clay's illness.
There will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites will be accorded as per Clay's wishes.
The family requests that memorials and flowers be sent to Avow Hospice of Naples, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
