David Frederick Chirgwin Wimauma, FL
David Frederick Chirgwin, 78, of Wimauma, FL died Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He formerly lived in Edgartown, MA, Naples, FL and Evans, WV.
David was born December 4, 1934 in Boston, MA, the son of Thomas and Katherine (O'Brien) Chirgwin. He was a 1953 graduate of Naples High School and attended the University of Florida. He served four years in the Air Force and returned to Naples. He married Polly Jenkins in 1966 and together they owned and operated Chirgwin's on Broad Avenue until her death in 1990.
David Chirgwin is survived by his beloved children, Sarah (John) Hall of Los Angeles, CA and Steven Chirgwin of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Haley and Grant Chirgwin of Naples, FL; his companion of 21 years, Helen Lee of Wimauma, FL; and his sister, Carol (Richard) Fligor of Edgartown, MA.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 by Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida, Inc., 1048 Goodlette-Frank Road, Suite 201, Naples, FL 34102; www.pasfi.org.
