Thomas Joseph Evans Naples, FL Thomas Joseph Evans, 90, of Naples, FL and a former resident of Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Tom was born in Springfield, MA on June 24, 1925, one of seven children of the late John A. and Margaret (Regan) Evans. Tom served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and was a Bronze Star recipient for his participation in the Marshall Island Operation in the Pacific Theater. Tom was also a Police Officer with the Springfield Police Department in Springfield, MA. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield, MA. His wife, Mary Mona Evans; and his daughter, Monica Evans, predeceased Tom. He was also predeceased by his brothers, William Evans, John Evans, and Donald Evans; and his sisters, Mary (Grady) Evans, Margaret (Renison) Evans, and Elsie (Moriarty) Evans. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, including his son, Thomas B. Evans and his partner, Dean G. Ebben of Long Island City, NY; his daughter, Mary Meg Evans of Naples, FL; his two grandchildren, Brian and Sarah; and his many nephews and nieces and extended family members and friends. The Evans family will hold a private family service in Naples, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's memory to the following charities: Wounded Warriors Project, K9 For Warriors, Catch-A-Lift Fund, or any veterans charity that you choose.
