James Riner Obituary
Naples, FL
James "Cecil" Riner II, 33, passed away suddenly on December 12, 2015. He died as the result of an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. This loss has devastated the entire community.
Cecil was born March 28, 1982 in Naples. He graduated from Gulf Coast High School in 2000. Cecil played varsity football for several years. He met the love of his life, Jessica, their senior year and they married in 2004. They went on to have four sons. He spent all of his spare time with family and friends. Cecil was a loving father that enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, and playing football with his "little bears" most of all. Even after a hard day's work he would go outside and pass the football with the kids.
He was a part of the SINN racing team and traveled internationally racing 4-wheelers. He was also a Team Florida captain for Monster Jam Quad Wars. His extensive network of friends centers around his passion for racing.
Cecil was a genuine family man. He always put his kids before anyone else. They were his pride and joy. He coached Landen's football team, attended every single game, and loved every minute of it. He loved his wife so much. Cecil was an attentive and devoted husband. He is such an enormous loss to them.
Cecil is known by many for the help he provided to others. He often did community outreach for people in need. He worked at Lowes for 15 years, most recently as the store manager of the South Naples store. He truly loved helping solve any problems. Whether he was fixing a 4-wheeler or dealing with a customer complaint he always gave 110%. Cecil always had a hello and a big ole' smile on his face for everyone. He will be sorely missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Jessica; and his sons, Landen (11), Garret (8), Carsen (7), Braden (4); father, Jimmy; brother, Johnny; niece, Meagan; grandmother, Mary Lou Riner, grandmother, Annie Mae Buchanan; many cousins, aunts, uncles, and thousands of friends.
Calling hours are Friday, December 18th from 5:15-8:00 pm at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19th at 11 am at Living Word Family Church. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Cecil's life at The Florida Sports Park. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Suncoast Credit Union for college funds for his children.

Cecil was a great boss and friend. The loss is felt through out the community. He was always there to help you out. Our heart and prayers go to Jessica and his family. There aren't any words to say to ease the pain and heart ache. He touched our lives and will be dearly missed.

I cant begin to tell you that my former boss and friend is no longer with us. As everyone who has worked with him at Lowes knows he was a gentle giant, every time i would see him ,he was smiling with those beautiful teeth always, never once in 7 years saw him not smiling,he would come into office and say Bett i need, i would say i got it Cecil,he would do anything to make customers happy and employees, You wont hardly meet a man so dedicated to his job, but his wife and boys came first, always showing us photos ,such a great soul,losing this man has changed his families lives, and his best buddies, those boys are going to need you in their lives, and Jessica, He was one of a kind, I just saw him a few months back in the store and we hugged and ask me when was i coming back to work.still see that smile, will always remember him that way, a fine man and i hope and pray the community continues to help this family. Cecil and I became friends when he worked for Collier County Public Schools. He told me he quit as a Lowe's assistant Manager so he could spend more time with his wife and kids!!! I was totally impressed with him as a MAN! We had many interesting conversations and played several "jokes" on one of our co-workers, all in good faith!! (Sorry B---!)
I was totally impressed with Cecil. At his age, he could have been my son or grandson...and that is how I felt about him. We were friends on FB and messaged back and forth.
I am so sad... I miss you, Cecil...

The Lowes that Cecil managed was our families "go to" hardware store. I cannot count the times that Cecil assisted us as a family as well as with my organizations events. Cecil's kind, understanding and educated way was always a help to us. God bless the Riner family, may you find some solace in the memories you have with the wonderful man.

I worked with Cecil for a very short time. He made a big impression on me. He was the nicest man/boss that anyone could ask for. Every time I walked past him in the store, he would always smile and say hello. He was just a genuine nice guy. I am truly heartbroken for the family and everyone that knew him. My heart goes out to the Riner family during this time of tragedy.
I haven't been in touch with Cecil or Jessica since high school unfortunately but all of my memories of Cecil are of warm, friendly smiles and he was always willing to help anyone out. I'm so happy to see that nothing had changed over the years.
It truly saddens me that he was taken from his family and friends so soon.

This is one of the most tragic losses I have had to deal with in my adult life. I am heartbroken for him, his entire family, his coworkers and his friends. Cecil's smile could light up a town. He was a kind and gentle soul that was taken from us all far too soon. I know that God needs angels and I know he takes the best of the best and that I shouldn't as why but I honestly can help but ask why. I hope that justice is served and I hope that the family can find peace. I hadn't seen Cecil in about two years. However, every time I would go to Lowes I would always look for him. Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to see him at Lowes and had a five-minute conversation with him. I'm glad I got to see him. This breaks my heart.
