Ruth Beulah Turner of Bonita Springs, FL passed away on June 2, 2013 at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL.
Ruth was born November 4, 1917 in Potwin, KS. She was the daughter of Ruby David Moore and Edith Leona (Taylor) Moore. They had eight children. Ruth married John Harold Turner (born May 2, 1917) of Hale, MO. They were married December 21, 1940 at the Potwin Kansas Christian Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie Harold Turner, Jr. who was killed in Vietnam on May 20, 1968; and by her husband, John Harold Turner, Sr. who was killed in a truck accident on June 9, 1969. John worked for Vickers Petroleum Company in Wichita, KS for 34 years.
Ruth Turner taught elementary school in a country one-room school house in Kansas. Then worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, KS for 33 years as one of the first female inspectors of airplane partsretired in 1986. She was known for her musical talents; voice, piano and organ. She was the First Christian Church Organist of Potwin, KS. She loved to quilt and made over 100 quilts.
She is survived by her son, David P. Turner and wife, Shelly of Naples, FL. They moved to Naples from Paducah, KY; grandsons, Justin David Turner and wife Marrisa of Benton, KY and Jeremy John Turner and wife, Gabby of Cumming, GA; and granddaughter, Suzanne (Turner) Beach and husband, Vic of San Diego, CA; and several great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Towanda Kansas Cemetery.
