Gary Heydorn Estero, FL
Gary Heydorn, born March 24th, 1942, passed away August 18, 2012 at Gulf Coast Hospital with his loving wife at his side.
Gary was born in Chicago, grew up in Northlake, and was a 1961 graduate from East Leyden High school in Franklin Park, IL. Prior to his January, 1999 retirement, Gary spent his early years working for Mercor Corporation and went on to own and operate his own business, G & G Locotronics, Inc. Gary married his best friend, Pat Jacobi in 1963. Together they traveled the world, spent time on the golf course, enjoyed fine wine, and had many fun adventures with family and friends. After retirement, Gary spent much of his time at his home in Estero, FL where he was a member of the West Bay Golf Club.
Gary was a very social person and an incredible inspiration to his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash, watching John Wayne movies, and drinking Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Pat (Jacobi); children, Ken (Pam), Kim (George), and Kerry (John); his seven grandchildren, Kristin, Alison, Matthew, Katie, Tommy, Taylor, and Kaylee; brother, Larry (Barb); sister, Pat (Jim); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Remember Gary by making a donation to the American Kidney Fund or sharing a bottle of fine wine with someone you love.

Fran and I send our sincere condolences to Pat and her entire family. Having known Gary and Pat for more than 50 years, many memories come to mind starting with High School, our first cars, their wedding reception (That Tom Zver and I crashed) and so many more. Gary was a target of Tom's ribbing through the years, but I believe he enjoyed the banter they exchanged and was a "Good Sport" (??? well sometimes).
I regularly view his photograph that remains on the ceiling of "Woody's here in St. Pete Beach, FL.
On our next visit to Woody's Fran and I will share a toast of wine to Gary to celebrate his life and accomplishments.
