Joseph John Pohrer
St. Augustine, FL
Joseph John Pohrer, 82 of St. Augustine, FL, reached out and took our Lord's hand on Monday, April 18, 2016 at The Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring. Joe was born in Bellevue, PA to Joseph and Armella Pohrer.
Joe & Dodie lived in Naples for 31 years where Joe worked and retired from Grey Oaks Country Club. Joe was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church and a 4th degree knight with the Knights of Columbus.
Four years ago, Joe and Dodie moved to St. Augustine to be near their daughter as Joe's health continued to decline from cancer.
A man of great faith in God and a devote Catholic, Joe never lost hope and continued to smile every day. He was often heard saying "It is all in God's hands'.
He is survived by his wife, Dodie, daughter Deborah Harvey, son Joseph P. Pohrer, their spouses and his four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. An account has also been set up at Go Fund Me to help with Joe's medical expenses (gofundme.com/2hdft2x8).
Joe's funeral Mass was held at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on April 25th and followed with inurnment in the St. Anastasia Cloisters Columbarium.
