Robert John Ramstorf
Bonita Springs, FL
Robert John Ramstorf, age 74, passed away surrounded by his family on September 16, 2017 from injuries sustained during Hurricane Irma in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife Celeste, daughter Deb (and Al) Ingersoll, their children Lindsey (and Brian) Tharalson, Patrick Ingersoll, Kirsten Tharalson, and their children Sophie, Ethan and Maya; Bob's son Mike (and Erika) Ramstorf and their children Henry, Emma and Leo. Bob is also remembered by his stepsons Kendall Lachermeier and Kurt (and Bradley) Lachermeier; his stepdaughter Keri (and Jim) Johnson and their children Jessie, Jared and Joey and Barb Ramstorf, his former wife and mother of Deb and Mike.
Bob was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Florence Ramstorf. He had fond memories of their Spunk Lake cabin in Avon, Minnesota and continued his love of the outdoors with his children and friends throughout his life. Bob was a devoted father; his children will always remember his love of comics, camping and cabin life. To stay connected with his children and grandchildren, Bob was always up for the latest in technology and used What'sApp, Snapchat, Facebook, iMessage and Skype. His love of animals was most evident with his proud streak of 30+ years of deer hunting with no deer killed and various pet health and welfare organizations. Bob will always be remembered for his morning coffee rituals, whether on his porch at the lake, meeting business associates at the Wadena Cafe or with friends at the Starbucks in Bonita Springs.
He attended Marshall High School in Minneapolis and Hamline University and was honourably discharged from the US Marine Corps in 1965. Over his lifetime, he worked for Control Data, Wadena Pioneer Journal, and Ingstad Broadcasting, amongst others. He was known for building teams and developing relationships and was admired by his peers for his integrity, passion and work ethic. After moving to SW Florida in 2001, he and his wife Celeste built Signature Cleaning. Even in retirement he loved staying active and engaged with their business and clients.
His involvement in community was a source of pride for Bob. He engaged at various levels with Rotary International, Wadena Elks Club, Wadena City Council, Wadena Jaycees, Wadena Hockey Association, and most recently as President of Spanish Wells Community Association.
In lieu of a traditional funeral, Bob's wish was for friends and family to celebrate his life with informal gatherings. Donations may be sent to For the Love of Cats FL http://fortheloveofcatsfl.com/donatenow/ and to the Habitat for Humanity Lee County. Bob's family will always be grateful for the compassionate care shown by the staff in the ICU at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers. Valiant efforts were made to reach Bob during Hurricane Irma by Bonita Springs Fire & Rescue.

We are going to miss Bob so much. Every morning when I let the dogs out, Bob was just coming home from Starbucks & was always so sweet & cheery and always greeted our dogs too!!! We loved going out to dinner with Bob and Celeste. Our hearts ache for Celeste and it will be so hard not to have Bob next door to greet us every morning. He was a wonderfully sweet & kind man and we will miss him so much.

I had the honor of running into Bob and Celeste briefly from time to time, two lovely human beings, and two loving peas in a pod, happy in their togetherness... Bob had a wonderful smile, and always a kind word or hug, just a warm, wonderful person... such positive energy... never too busy to exchange cat stories with me...
Knowing this, and how he made such a large impression on my life in such small doses, I cannot begin to imagine how the depth and breadth of his loss impacts his family. Celeste and family, my heart goes out to you... He will be sorely missed.

I am so saddened to hear about Bob. I had just talked to him a few days before the storm while walking my dog Luna. Bob and Celeste loved Luna. No matter what Bob was doing he would always stop and give Luna a little love! We will both miss his smile and laugh.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Celeste, and your family.
Sincerely,
Allen and Patricia Malnak

Bob's constant smile and a ready laugh will be dearly missed at our morning Starbucks Board Meetings. He always had a good word for everyone, achieving near-sainthood in being able to cheer on the Vikings and Packers in equal measure. My son, Danny, and I offer your family our most sincere condolences.
