Donavon F. Beaver
Donavon F. Beaver, 79, died July 22, 2014, at Bentley Village.
Don was born in Kasson, MN and was educated in the Austin, MN public schools. He earned a degree in chemistry at the University of Minnesota and married Jean Roberts the day after their graduation.
Don went to work for Standard Oil of Ohio as a junior chemist in 1957 and retired in 1992. During that time Standard Oil became a part of British Petroleum. Don traveled internationally for 30 years, making many friends around the world. He retired as a Senior Vice President of BP America in 1992 and moved to Bonita Bay in Bonita Springs, FL.
He and Jean were the parents of three sons: Mark in Boston, Eric in Cleveland, and Kent in Pittsburgh. They were the loving grandparents of seven grandchildren, David, Mark, Jean, Delaney, Michael, Matthew, and Kieran. He is also survived by a sister, Louise; and a brother, David.
Don loved to play golf and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite trips were with grandchildren in Canada for fishing.
Don was loyal and loved his family, the state of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota, being of Norwegian ancestry, his golf and hunting buddies, and the many friends he made in Cleveland and Florida.
He was truly loved and admired by his family who will mourn his loss.
