Naples, FL

Kenneth L. Hartung died Tuesday, October 3rd at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL following a fall during evacuation from Hurricane Irma. Born in Junction City, KS in 1929, Ken was a proud Kansas State graduate and Air Force captain from 1951-58, playing football both home and abroad. He was Senior Vice President and board member at Diamond V Mills in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and in presidential positions with NFIA, Jaycees, and Chambers of Commerce. He was a member of Rotary International, a Paul Harris Fellow, and active in all his local churches. Ken moved to Vi at Bentley Village 4 years ago and joined First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.

Known for his joy, grit, and cheerful determination, Ken is remembered with love by his beloved wife Lisa, his children Terri (Marty) Wade, Vicki (Dan) Sindelar, Steve (Becky), Dan (Sue) and Tom (Tricia) Hartung, step-sons Jim (Lisa) and David (Diane) Grieve, dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers Jerry (Helen) and Dale (Jean), and many nieces and nephews. Filled with faithful love for his family, he embraced the spouses as though they were his own children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Wilma, and one infant grandson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am December 27th at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs. Ken was a very special man who always had an upbeat positive attitude. I am glad our paths crossed in 1990 and we became friends. You will be missed by so many, but you left your mark and memories on this life. Lisa and family you are in my thoughts and prayers.
