Walter Henry Waechter Jr. Naples, FL

Walter Henry Waechter Jr., 82, of Naples, FL, passed away December 8, 2012. Walter was born in Philadelphia to Walter Sr. and Emma Waechter in 1930. He went to high school at William Penn Charter School and graduated in 1948. He went on to earn a B.A. in History from Amherst College and a Masters of Business from the University of Arizona. He served in the United States of America Navy aboard the U.S.S. Albany between 1952 and 1955. He worked for the Duracell Corporation for twenty years as President of Duracell International.

Walter was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all.

He enjoyed traveling, fine dining, gardening, reading, and spending time with his friends and family. Walter was a very kind man; open-minded and fascinated with the world, interested in people, and was always giving to others.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Emma; and beloved wife of 41, Lorraine Czarnawski Waechter.

Walter is survived by his brother, Frederick Bruce Waechter; sisters-inlaw, Eileen Strain and Joan Cavanaugh; sons, Jonathan, Christian, and Ashley Waechter; daughters-inlaw, Nina, Lori, and Tara Waechter; four grandchildren, Emily Jane, Gretchen, Beckett, and Whitman Waechter; and longtime companion, Susan Colombaris.
