John I can't believe its been 6 years. I still from time to time think of you and memories are still strong. I appreciate the times we share at AES. You could always bring a smile to my face. The road trips to UL could have been a comedy act. I hope the years have been kind to your family. I know you are looking down on them and keeping watch. God Bless My Friend.

I am a contractor for AES John was the main contact person next to the owner. I know I have called at all hours when problems have developed he was there 24/7 . I was away for a few days and just learned of his passing. I like many others knew he loved life, we talked about Maine, and boating along with a list of other subjects. But we will meet again.

John was a character. A wonderful guy who put a smile on the faces of those he worked with--certainly mine. I have such terrific memories of traveling with him on business, talking and laughing easily through car rides and dinners. An incredibly smart, funny, sensitive guy.

When one day I tell the story of my life John will be a prominent figure in it. When confronted with a challenge for the rest of my life I will always ask myself "what would Jake do"? We only met face to face 10-12 times but spoke nearly every day over the last 6 years. He was and will continue to be my mentor, always. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all who were privileged to know and work with him.

I'm grateful for knowing John Aiken, I'm a better person because of him. John's generosity to open the door to his house, his family and his life afforded me the opportunity to have a dear friend who was loving, compassionate and just. He fought for me when I was in need; he listened when talked; he advised when asked; and he most certainly always made me laugh. Love and condolences to the entire family.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting John in person,we spoke many times on the phone when he would be calling Rick, or when Rick would call home from one of their many long "road trips" to New York for work. He shared his great sense of humor and love of his Wife and kids and of his life, with Rick on those trips to New York, and it's obvious from all the messages his friends are leaving, Rick is not the only one who felt this way about John.
Our hearts are filled with sorrow for all of John's Family, friends & co-workers & especially his Wife~ You are all in our prayers~ ?

Loretta,J W and Ben . It is with a heavy heart I write this. John was proud of his family and always had a word about how good the boys were doing.
I had 20 plus years working with john I could always count on John to do the best that was possible.
He was known around the world with great respect. When John was working on a complex problem he would curl his hair with his finger. That was when I knew problem solved. He would look at me with the smile in the picture here and say got it.

I am proud to have known john.
