Boettcher, William S.  
William S. Boettcher of Pepperell, MA; 97 PEPPERELL, MA -- William S. Boettcher, 97, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2015 at Nashua Crossings Assisted Living in Nashua, NH after a short illness. Bill was born January 27, 1918 in South Hadley, MA. He graduated from Mount Hermon Preparatory School in Gill, MA. and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in Amherst, MA. He was a veteran of The United States Coast Guard. He moved to Pepperell in 1942 where he was the manager of the Wirthmore Grain Store and then a manager at St. Regis Paper Co. In 1962 he purchased the Lyman F. Robbins Insurance Company. Bill was a Pepperell Selectmen, Groton Rotarian and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by Dorothy, his wife of 30 years, his parents, William and Marion Boettcher, his sister Muriel Smith as well as a grandchild, Bradford Lambert. He is survived by his wife Josephine of 39 years and his children Mary Boettcher, Craig Boettcher and his wife Robin, from Pepperell, MA and Linda Lambert and her husband Benjamin of Campton, NH, as well as six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Also surviving him are three stepchildren, Carol Dubey and husband David, William Lyon and his wife Linda and Linda Elwood and husband Jason, all from Dunstable, MA; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He enjoyed outdoor life, including golf, gardening, boating, hiking and traveling extensively throughout the United States. BOETTCHER -- A Memorial Service will be held Friday 2 PM July 3, 2015 at the Hamilton-McGaffigan Funeral Home, 37 Main St., (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA. Demers, Althea M. (Aiken)  
Althea M. (Aiken) Demers of Fitchburg; formerly of Leominster; 85 FITCHBURG -- Althea M. (Aiken) Demers, 85, of Fitchburg, died uexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Health Alliance Leominster Hospital. She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on January 18, 1930 a daughter of the late, Fernald and Hazel (DeGreenia) Aiken. Althea grew up in Concord, NH and had lived in Leominster for several years before moving to Fitchburg over 30 year ago. She worked for many years at Digital Equipment Corporation in Westminster prior to her retirement in 1989. Althea enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and trips to Foxwoods. She was a member of the former Holy Rosary Parish and current member of St. Joseph's Parish. Her true love and devotion was to her family. She leaves her husband of 67 years, Leon J. Demers of Fitchburg; two daughters, Judith A. Beauregard and her husband Ken with whom she lived and Janet M. Pothier and her husband William D. of West Townsend; three grandchildren, Kristin M. Harrington and her husband Steven R. of West Townsend, Joseph T. Beauregard and Timothy J. Beauregard; two great-grandchildren, William J. Harrington and Alexander T. Harrington and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her daughter, Nancy V. Demers who died in 1997; two brothers, Fernald Aiken, Jr., and Ervin Aiken and a sister, Pauline Aiken. DEMERS -- Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 1PM in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St., Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass on Saturday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Isabelle and Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England, 540 Gallvian Blvd. 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02124. Shepherd, Lois Kathryn Lowery "Kaye"  
Lois Kathryn ("Kaye") Lowery Shepherd of Ayer, MA AYER, MA -- Lois Kathryn ("Kaye") Lowery Shepherd of Ayer, MA passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, June 27, 2015. She had lived at Nashoba Park Assisted Living in Ayer, MA for several years. She was the daughter of the late Percy E. Lowery and Beatrice Parker Lang Lowery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Baker Shepherd and her brother, Forst Edgar Lowery. Over the past several weeks, Kaye had been able to enjoy the company of family and friends. She had a full life and was able to enjoy travel and education with family and friends throughout her long life. Kaye was born on Feb 25, 1922 and spent many years in Minnesota as a child. She met her future husband Cecil Baker Shepherd ("Shep") on a family outing in Birmingham, Alabama. They married in May of 1941 and had two children: Tony Bill Shepherd and Pat Ray Shepherd. Cecil died prematurely in 1962. Kaye returned to college and obtained her Bachelor's degree at The University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, then her Master's degree in Library Science at The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1969. After graduation she took a position as a librarian at the Business Library in Brooklyn, NY where she worked until she retired at the age of 62. Following her dreams of travel, she moved to Greece where she lived for 3 yrs. She returned from Greece in 1987 and lived with and near her daughter for some time, then returned to her apartment in Brooklyn, NY. After the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001 Kaye decided to move closer to family and relocated to Ayer, MA where her son lives. She enjoyed many happy years in retirement in MA and will be missed by all she met and influenced. She is survived by her son, Tony Bill Shepherd and his wife Alice Causey Shepherd, her daughter Pat Ray Shepherd Reese and her husband Marshall Edward Reese Jr. She leaves two grandsons: Brian Keith Shepherd and his wife Megan Pardee Shepherd, and their children Olivia Lacey, Carter Michael, Addison Grace and Lucy Caroline; and Scott Allen Shepherd and his wife Marjorie Powers, and their child Harrison Dean. And she leaves a granddaughter: Kelley Andrea Reese Friel and her husband Ian Friel, and their children Audrey Elizabeth and Heather Rebecca. Her wishes were for a private cremation followed by a private family gathering. She was always a great supporter of Hospice, and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to your local Hospice or Public Library.
