Lifelong resident of Ayer; 91

AYER -- Beatrice (Fletcher) Haslam, 91, of Ayer, died at Nashoba Park in Ayer on December 24, 2012.

She was born in Clinton on April 1, 1921, daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice (Robbins) Fletcher, and was the wife of the late Arthur Haslam who died in 2005.

A lifelong resident of Ayer, she was a graduate of Ayer High School Mrs. Haslam was married in 1942 and worked at Fletcher's Clothing Store and Elizabeth Bennett Insurance Agency for several years, and later at the Ayer Jr. Senior High School cafeteria.

"Pat" was a member of Rainbow Girls when she was young, and liked camping, knitting, and crewel work.

Her survivors include two daughters, Janis Haslam and Judith Haslam Lake, both of Ayer; two sisters, Olive Lawrence of Ayer, and Helen Trimper of Groton; and a granddaughter, Jennie Lake and her husband, Christopher Egan.
