LUNENBURG -- Clare A. (Moore) Vail, 87, formerly of West Boylston and Long Island, NY, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, Chelmsford.
Her husband, Charles M. Vail, died in April 2002.
Mrs. Vail was born in Queens, New York, September 18, 1926, a daughter of Edgar and Ruth (Anderson) Moore and resided over 35 years in West Boylston before moving to this area 16 years ago. She grew up on Long Island and was a graduate of Valley Stream High School and Long Island College in Brooklyn where she majored in nursing.
She was a former member of the Ayer Senior Citizens and attended St. Boniface Church in Lunenburg.
She leaves a daughter, Karen A. Butler of Lunenburg; two sons, Charles M. Vail Jr. of Holland, Massachusetts, Kevin Vail of Chelmsford; a sister, Ruth Butler of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Vail of Charlton in 2003; her sister, Jeanne Moore and her brother, Edgar Moore Jr., both of California.
Mrs. Vail worked as a registered nurse at the former Doctor's Hospital in Worcester for 16 years, retiring in 1990.
VAIL -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 A.M., Monday, May 5th at St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Avenue, Lunenburg, MA 01462. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Shirley.
