of Shirley; 67

SHIRLEY -- Edward C. Sherwin, 67, of Shirley, died peacefully on Monday, August 4th, surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born May 12, 1947 a son of the late Wilbur G. and Glenyss (Howe) Sherwin and resided in the area most of his life.

Mr. Sherwin was a graduate of Ayer High School and St. Anselm College. After graduation, Ed served in the U.S. Army.

Ed and his longtime business partner "J" did construction and owned Sherwin-Howlett Construction Company for years before owning The Shirley Club and later The Phoenix Bar and Grill.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fitness, spending much of his time running, hiking, biking and golfing.

He is survived by his children David L. Sherwin of Shirley and Rachel L. Sherwin of Austin, TX.; two sisters Nancy J. Sherwin of Shirley and Kathleen E. O' Sullivan of Ayer and also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

SHERWIN -- Funeral services are to be held privately at the convenience of the family and are under the care of the T. J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Rt. 2A, Ayer.
