Evariste J. 'Ariste' Robichaud
of Townsend; 70

TOWNSEND -- Evariste J. "Ariste" Robichaud, 70, of Townsend, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston.

Ariste was born in St. Mary, New Brunswick, Canada, March 31, 1944, a son of the late Felix and Imelda (Poirier) Robichaud and moved to the United States at the age sixteen. He resided in Waltham before moving to Townsend 37 years ago. Ariste peacefully passed surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Jacqueline A. (Howe) Robichaud; three sons, Richard J Robichaud and wife, Sarah of New Ipswich, NH, A.J. Robichaud and wife, Tammy of Townsend, Stephen H. Robichaud and wife, Erica of Glocester, RI; a daughter, Michelle A. Conner and husband, Chris of Townsend; two brothers, Paul Robichaud of Pepperell, Ronald Robichaud of Canada; three sisters, Florence LeBlanc, Irene Melanson, Anita Bastarache, all of Canada; nine grandchildren, Daigan Robichaud, Dylan Conner, Jared Conner, Myranda Robichaud, Megan Robichaud, Julia Robichaud, Andrew Robichaud, Everett Robichaud, Isabelle Robichaud; and many nieces and nephews.

For over 40 years, Ariste and his brother, Paul, co-owned and operated Robichaud Brothers Masonry. They constructed numerous chimneys and brick fronts on homes throughout the community.

On any given day you could find Ariste spending time with his wife and grandchildren, casting a line to catch the winning fish, making improvements to the club house for the grandchildren, or helping one of his children with their home improvement projects. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren perform at their dance recitals, sporting events and school performances. Spring was a time to celebrate each year with gathering the sap from the maple trees and spending hours on end with all his children and grandchildren boiling the sap into maple syrup. The great family traditions Ariste shared with his family will be cherished and continued for years to come.

ROBICHAUD -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM, Thursday, May 8th at St. John's Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at the T.J.
