PEPPERELL, MA -- Vincent Giangregorio (Vinny, Jim), 88, of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Nashoba Valley Medical Center on Thursday, January 31, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Vincent was born August 02, 1924, in East Boston, Massachusetts to Pasquale and Carolina (D'Amelia) Giangregorio. He served proudly in the United States Army Air Corps as a Flight Officer and Bombardier from 1943 to 1948, stationed in North Africa and Europe. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1960 and was employed as a Civil Engineer for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, retiring in 1988. He was passionate about his work and after retirement continued to volunteer his skills and enthusiasm in the community, including being active at the Pepperell Senior Center. He was an avid follower of politics and was extremely proud of his big family.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 59 years Olive (Lanier) Giangregorio, eight children, their spouses and significant others, 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren along with a large extended family including his brother Louis of East Boston, Massachusetts.
GIANGREGORIO -- A reception in his honor will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Grace Baptist Church, 42 River Road, Pepperell, Massachusetts. A private burial will be held prior to the reception. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
